THE ALCHEMY OF EXPERIENCE
Where deep human understanding meets technological possibility, you'll find my journey as a Human Code Alchemist.
For over 15 years, I've stood at the intersection of academic rigor and practical innovation, decoding human behavior patterns and transforming them into scalable solutions that create meaningful value.
From Scholar to Product Visionary
My path began with academic foundations — a Master's in Interpersonal Communication with a focus on social stigma and health behaviors from the University of Texas at Austin. This scholarly lens has remained a constant throughout my career, informing how I approach human needs and technological possibilities.
The true alchemy began when I stepped into the product realm, where I discovered my ability to transmute scholarly insights into experiences that matter. At NetSpend, I championed the needs of the underserved and underbanked, developing a deep appreciation for how thoughtfully designed financial products can empower individuals often overlooked by traditional systems.
Transformative Innovations
My time at Target represents a pivotal chapter in my evolution as an alchemist. There, I co-conceived and scaled Cartwheel (now Target Circle) to 35 million users, driving $2 billion in business growth. This wasn't just about building a successful product—it was about understanding the psychology behind shopping behaviors and creating an experience that resonated on a human level.
As Director of Product for Store of the Future, I led the digital product development for a novel retail shopping experience that blended physical and digital realms. This work required equal parts behavioral scientist and product creator, understanding how humans navigate spaces and make decisions in increasingly hybrid environments.
Pioneering New Methodologies
Throughout my career, I've been a catalyst for organizational transformation. At Target, I pioneered the implementation of Product/Agile methodologies, helping to shift how one of America's largest retailers approached innovation. At GoKart Labs, I facilitated human-centered design workshops, crafting streamlined, customer-centric strategies that bridged academic insight and product reality.
Global Impact Through Human Understanding
At Amazon, I led the global driver experience within Relay mobile apps, enhancing navigation and operational efficiency. This work demonstrated how deep understanding of human behavior—in this case, the complex needs of commercial drivers navigating diverse international environments—could be translated into technological solutions that create safer, more efficient experiences.
My work at Petal represents the culmination of my journey as a Human Code Alchemist. There, I led product development teams that revolutionized financial solutions using cashflow data, spearheaded a portfolio repricing initiative yielding $13 million in annual revenue, and reimagined the credit journey using the working backwards framework to create personalized challenges.
The Art of Balancing Understanding and Action
Throughout these experiences, I've mastered the delicate balance between thorough insight and practical action. I've learned exactly when to dive deeper into research and when to move forward with confident implementation. This ability to navigate between deep exploration and decisive action has become my signature as a Human Code Alchemist—creating momentum by transforming complex human insights into elegant solutions that drive measurable business impact.
